Beautiful :-D I don't really bite to the new R1 lines though.

You should take your R1. The Fazer will not bring any difference compared to the R1, and it would be sad noot to use the R1. Plus, you have some nice side bags :powa

Says the guy who lives in Greece  I'm sure you have nothing to be ashamed about in Greece, concerning the roads, or the sun needed to ride.

well, about the roads... in Greece certainly you can find very good roads but Alps
are something else... i love them... like people from all around the world....
but you know what the best thing is? That travelling around other countrys with your motorcycle
you began to feel them from the first second like their are your country too
and the only difference is that people speak a different language....
People in Greece need for summer vacation to go at an island.... i need also a week tour on the Alps from France to Austria :D
Then i am happy :D :D :D

Hello Lyon,

looks like you & your friends felt in love of teh Alps few years ago.

I don't know the alps except for ski and drive on the highspeed way to reach Italy.

But anyway, I would like to recommend to go to the Mont Cenis lake for the following reason :
1 - on your roadmap, you are crossing the border betwenn France and Italy through a tunnel (Traforo del Frejus betwenn Bardonecchia and Modane). It's pretty expensive (around 40€ by car if I remember well)
2 - you will miss a very nice road to ride (at least last year it was)
3 - I love this artificial lake because it's awesome.
4 - You can spend few mnutes/hours there it's pretty nice. Last year I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise
5 - you can spend a lunch over there (if it's NOT too windy)
6 - If you like Alps cheese, you have a nice shop in LanceLeBourg town.
7 - if it's too windy or you prefer to go to restaurant, you can make a stop to Susa and have an Italy lunch (always good to change food during a trip :D)
8 - Ride the SP210 to reach the lake from Susa ;)

here a google map roadbook to get a better explication : https://maps.google.fr/maps?saddr=Brian%C3%A7on&daddr=Susa,+Province+de+Turin,+Italie+to:45.1488016,7.0344084+to:45.1743731,7.0144372+to:Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis,+Savoie,+Rh%C3%B4ne-Alpes+to:Modane&hl=fr&ie=UTF8&ll=45.189296,7.022667&spn=0.18123,0.140762&sll=45.163642,6.868515&sspn=0.370854,0.84938&geocode=FVgcrQId611lACkRQXQDaOSJRzGgqZf9pRkIBA%3BFbbCsAIdCY1rAClrdB1F57aJRzF0qrrApx_8rA%3BFYHqsAIdKFZrACk5Dq-9ObeJRzFzWPS8zCUXTw%3BFWVOsQIdJQhrACnXELCOp7CJRzHU5Ze6pczAzw%3BFRVFsgIdt7ZpACmxTodwrbyJRzHwSZ8kK6sIKg%3BFVO4sQIdGNJlACmpnqsdII6JRzFkwkLiVVa3WQ&oq=Modane&mra=ls&via=2,3&t=m&z=12

Let me know if it doesn't work.

hope this info will be helpful for you
Enjoy your vacation & trip
Cheers

Thank you so much for your suggestions gab!
We will make a round around the places you suggest. :D
Our programme is to spend 4 days living somewhere around Champery and another 4 days living around Menton!!!
We have already check a lot of places that we would like to go from alpineroads.com .
If you think that you have any other suggestions we would be gratefull!!!

A last question i have for you is, which site would you use to make room reservations in France.
I have already check venere , booking, expedia but they all seem to have the same hotels :-?
Is there any other France or other site that you use?
Thank you for your help!!!

You may try hotels.com , or homelidays.com which is more for house rental. Last but not least, gites-de-france.com which is for house rental as well.
