Groquick a écrit :Thanks a lot for these pictures Gio66..i was explaining that's the nex faz wasn't as exciting as i hoped... according to me, the first version (with protections) is looking as the TDM...and i'll find it not very beautiful...
for the second version (without protections), it's better...but far from the Fazer spirit...it'll be not so "polyvalent" as before...
Well, like british said.. "Wait and see"...
Thanx a lot ... see you soon..
Ok this is exactly our impressions. We have the same "Fazer Spirit" inside.
I'm very happy to know that, Yamaha it's making a big mistake, they want to strike Honda Hornet Power in italy, and that one without fairing may be to be the bike to be able to do that (she is not so bad, but...), but the first model (with protection) it's a bad bad mix of TDM, V-Strom, Multistrada and so on....
Ciao

Tiens, pour les anglicistes, mettez vous ça sous la dent :
2004 Fazer 600
It’s not very often we can claim a scoop but we've just seen the new Yamaha Fazer 600. Since Yamaha announced this year’s model was on its way out earlier in the summer we’d been expecting a new one anytime (well you wouldn’t expect a company to ditch one of its biggest selling bikes would you?)
We're not allowed to show you the pics yet but from what we can see there are some significant changes. The old model R6 engine, has been slotted into a cast aluminium frame. The shots don’t give enough detail to spot whether it’s fuel injected or not. Given that the old model is being fazed (!) out due to emissions law you might expect fuel injection to be developed for this engine. But as the latest Honda Hornet has carbs and easily meets EU emissions limits it’s hard to speculate.
A 4-into-1-into-2 exhaust system has familiar Fazer/R6 down tubes but twin under seat exhausts are clearly new and show a passing resemblance to a certain multi-skilled Italian bike launched this year.
Brakes front and rear have changed for what looks like a lower spec, two-piston floating caliper. This means the new bike has lost the famous R-series calipers, widely regarded as a measure of all sports brakes, so let’s hope looks are deceiving.
From head to toe it looks different yet somehow familiar with its re-shaped body work. The tank is common to both faired and un-faired models and looks similar to that of the Bulldog, though not the same. Similarly the tail unit is common with a pretty broad seat and a substantial grab rail.
The faired model looks just as useful with a decent fairing and giving the bike a over all look that is more all-rounder than either the old model or the new un-faired bike plus a centre stand. If anything it has slipped towards Yamaha’s top commuter hack, the Diversion (here’s hoping the performance is better though). A new headlight has wider lenses indicating better night time vision.
By comparison the un-faired bike seems more hooligan, more muscular and certainly more competition for the new Honda Hornet. The bi-focal headlight sits below what looks like the pod-like clocks of the R6. Tear drop shaped mirrors are different to the faired bikes.
We’re expecting more info about the new Fazer in the next few weeks and as soon as we can release the pictures we'll stick 'em on t'internet so click back on superbike.co.uk for updates.
